One of my favorite parts about owning a book store has been the opportunities we’ve had to be able to meet local authors and introduce them to friends at our Meet the Author events.

And this one is no exception. In fact, it’s perhaps even more exciting because the author also happens to be a personal friend.

Chris Carlson – Kellogg native, former press secretary for Gov. Andrus, founder of The Gallatin Group, political advisor and now published author – will be signing his book, Cecil Andrus: Idaho’s Greatest Governor, Saturday at 1 p.m.

Although the author describes the book as more of a reminiscence than a biography, it is chalk-full of political insights, many of which have never been told.

As always, we will have plenty of books on hand and available for Mr. Carlson to sign and personalize (did we time this right for Christmas gifts, or what?). But we hope you stick around a bit and enjoy his company … mainly because he’s a heckofa nice guy who loves to talk and share stories and who, by the way, is quite good at it.

But don’t take our word for it, grab his book and see for yourself.
